In a lifetime career over four decades in the trustee and depositary sector, David’s initial experience was gained with the Midland Bank Executor & Trustee Company. He moved into corporate trusteeship contemporaneously with the passing of the Financial Services Act in 1986. His primary focus over the following decade was the practical implementation of the Act in respect of trustee obligations relating to authorised investment funds.
In the early ‘90s David moved to Chase Manhattan Trustees and held overall responsibility for trustee and depositary client relationships with many leading fund management groups. Following the merger with J.P. Morgan, David was appointed Director of the Trustee & Depositary Company. In 2014, he set up and led the Trustee & Depositary Services division at Societe Generale in the UK.
David has been an active participant in the Depositary & Trustee Association, on the Technical Committee and as a Director on the Executive Committee, and was appointed Chair in 2013. He has also been a frequent presenter at industry seminars, most significantly as chair and organiser of the J.P.Morgan Spring and Autumn Forums.
