Glenn Handley

Glenn is a highly accomplished financial markets expert with over 34 years of experience in securities financing, repo, short-term interest rates, and collateral management.  He spent 17 years at HSBC as Managing Director, Global Head of G10 Rates Cash Financing Solutions and ran all of the European Repo Businesses.  He oversaw trading, funding, and balance sheet strategies.

At HSBC, Glenn was instrumental in building a market-leading repo platform, optimising liquidity, and developing innovative financing solutions. He played a key role in regulatory compliance, risk management, and market structure reforms and was a member of many internal governance forums.

Prior to HSBC, Glenn held senior trading and leadership roles at Commerzbank and Barclays Capital, where he established and expanded repo, credit financing, and high-yield businesses.  He has been a member of key industry committees, including the London Clearing House Default Management Group and The UK Money Market Code Sub-committee at the Bank of England which shaped industry best practices and market standards.

Glenn holds an Executive MBA from Bayes Business School and is widely recognised for his expertise in trading, liquidity management, and secured financing
