James Dowdall

James is an experienced banker having spent 12 years in the City of London working for Barclays, Santander and HSBC. During his time in Finance, he specialised in both M&A and Restructuring, working with clients across the UK, US, Europe and Asia. Since leaving banking in early 2019 he has worked client side negotiating and executing a range of transactions, including; (re)financings, debt/ equity raises, restructurings and company exits/ sales.

Further, he has represented lenders in court during contentious situations arising from the financial crisis both in the UK and Portugal. More recently he worked supporting the Independent Third Party addressing complaints from corporate clients of RBS’s Global Restructuring Group (GRG), overseen by retired High Court Judge, Sir William Blackburne.
