Roger Kean

Roger has extensive Investment banking experience, specialising in leveraged finance. After 15 years at JP Morgan, he then moved to Barclays for seven years before retiring.  As former Head of Leveraged Finance Credit Risk, he has a wealth of transactional experience across multiple private equity firms and industry sectors.  He was responsible for all aspects of credit approval, transaction structuring and execution, ongoing credit management, and representing the firms with their regulators.

He has been a Senior Credit Risk Approver and Senior Voter on Debt Underwriting Committees.  He has worked with key partners in debt origination, capital markets and syndication, financial sponsor coverage, derivatives, and industry sector bankers.  His roles have also included running portfolio management teams, regulatory responsibilities, restructuring, and investment grade lending.  He has comprehensive transactional documentation and structuring experience around some of the largest, and most complex, leveraged buyouts and has worked extensively with all of the major law firms.  He has credit managed debt portfolios of up to 200 highly levered companies, in a role which included ongoing credit monitoring, waivers and amendments, ratings reviews, and regulated reporting.

Roger was also a member of numerous Reputational and Disciplinary Committees, Subsidiary Boards which appraised loan performance, and Staff Performance Appraisal Committees.
