Ronald Gould’s career in the investment sector includes research, portfolio management, investment trusts, institutional and mutual fund business development. He is currently Chairman of Blackrock Smaller Companies Investment Trust, of the Think Alliance Group in Hong Kong, and of Credo Capital Partners. He established the fintech start-up Compliance Science in Europe and was its first Chairman. He was until recently a non-executive director of OneRe Insurance and the JP Morgan Asia Investment Trust. He was also Senior Advisor at the Financial Services Authority where he played an important role in the re-structuring of financial institutions and the supervision of complex investment organisations.

Ronald established the Greater China/Asia business of the Promontory Financial Group, leading efforts to improve governance, risk control and regulatory effectiveness for financial companies in Asia from a base in China. Before that, Ronald was Chief Executive of Chi-X Asia, developing new market trading venues across the Asian region.

Ronald has also been Managing Director of AXA Investment Managers and Vice Chairman of Barclays/BZW asset management business, responsible for the group’s extensive international expansion including the acquisition of what became Barclays Global Investors (now Blackrock).
