Warren has almost 40 years’ experience in private, retail, and commercial banking within the NatWest Group.  His specialisms are credit products, underwriting, origination as well as intensive care management.

After 18 years within NatWest Warren moved to Coutts & Co in 2000. After a period in the underwriting team he moved to the Bank's Specialist Credit Team, structuring large and complex credit deals for high net worth clients within the Bank's International and Professionals client groups before taking over leadership of the team in 2007.  He was closely involved with the Bank's response to the Mortgage Market Review (MMR) initiated by the FSA and had direct dialogue with the regulator around the proposed High Net Worth exemptions and was the senior representative on the project team which implemented the MMR requirements including holding the pen on many of the required policy changes, including the Bank's Responsible Lending Policy.

Warren then moved on to head up the Bank's Credit Portfolio team looking at all aspects of in-life management of credit facilities and was a quorate member of the Bank's Credit Risk Committee with oversight of emerging risk issues, remediation programmes etc.
